[Deployment and Operations](https://knowledge.sobereye.com/en/deployment-and-operations?hsLang=en) # How long does baseline acquisition take, and how should we plan for it? ## Plan at least 10 accepted measurements, typically across about two weeks of normal shifts. A baseline requires at least 10 accepted measurements. The first 2 can be taken one after the other; each later baseline measurement must be at least 8 hours after the previous one. A measurement taken too soon is not registered, and the Device shows an alert. Baseline acquisition usually takes about two weeks of normal shifts. During this period Users receive no conclusive Scan result, only confirmation that the measurement was accepted. Plan the go-live of result-based procedures accordingly. Baseline measurements must be taken in low or normal indoor light, below 1,000 lux. The lux reading is shown on the Device home screen. A baseline measurement taken above 1,000 lux is discarded. Users should not test immediately after exposure to very bright light, such as sunlight or bright loading bays. The baseline number of measurements and duration are the same for both association methods.
