# How does OPTOVERA support pre-shift safety screening?

## A Scan is compared with the User’s baseline to support review before work begins.

OPTOVERA supports pre-shift safety screening by adding a standardized, objective Scan before safety-sensitive work begins.

At a high level, the workflow is:

1. The User completes an OPTOVERA Scan using the Device before starting safety-sensitive work.
2. The Scan is associated with the User’s record through the association method the User chose: PIN or optional one-to-one iris recognition.
3. The Device performs an approximately 60-second measurement of the User’s pupillary response.
4. OPTOVERA analyzes the response and, once the User’s individual baseline is established, compares the current Scan with that baseline.
5. The system displays a result: Within Baseline Range, meaning no significant response alteration was detected relative to the User’s baseline, or Alteration Detected, meaning a significant response alteration was detected.
6. Supervisors or qualified personnel review the result and follow the organization’s safety policy.

OPTOVERA is intended to support safety workflows by providing an objective readiness signal at the point of work. It does not make the decision itself and does not replace supervisor review or the organization’s internal safety procedures.
