# What user roles are available, and what permissions does each role have?

## Administrator, Agent, and Read-Only roles provide different platform permissions.

The OPTOVERA dashboard includes three user roles:

- Administrator
- Agent
- Read-Only

Each role provides a different level of access to the dashboard.

Administrator. Administrators have full access to platform functionality. They can manage the dashboard, add and manage Users, configure settings, manage Agents, configure alerts, and access reports.

Agent. Agents can support daily platform operations and have similar privileges to administrators, including clearing forgotten PINs and enabling changes of association method, but they cannot add other Agents. Agents can also be limited to selected groups, depending on the Customer’s configuration and operational responsibilities.

Read-Only. Read-Only users can view information and reports but cannot enter, modify, or manage data. Read-Only access can also be limited to selected groups, so a person can review only the Users and information relevant to their assigned area.

All three roles can see which association method each User uses. Customers are advised not to use a User’s association method as a criterion in any assessment of that worker, including work allocation, evaluation, or discipline. No role, including Administrator, can see a User’s PIN.

Access should be assigned based on each person’s responsibilities in the Customer’s OPTOVERA workflow. Users who only need to review information should receive Read-Only access, while administrative access should be limited to authorized personnel responsible for managing Users, groups, alerts, and platform configuration.
