[Running a Test](https://knowledge.sobereye.com/en/running-a-test?hsLang=en) # How do I run an OPTOVERA test? ## Select your username, verify association, and follow the Device’s Scan instructions. To run an OPTOVERA test, the User uses the OPTOVERA Device and follows the visual and voice instructions provided by the Device. At a high level, the process is: 1. Confirm that the User is enrolled. The User must be enrolled in the OPTOVERA platform before testing. 2. Synchronize the Device. Before testing, tap UPDATE USERS LIST so the user list and records on the Device are current. 3. Verify the User on the Device. Open the Device menu and check USERS LIST to confirm that the User appears on the Device. 4. Prepare the User for the test. The User should be calm, comfortable, and ready to follow the instructions. The test should not be rushed. 5. Avoid testing immediately after bright-light exposure. The User should not take the test immediately after coming from a very bright environment, especially during baseline acquisition. 6. Check lighting conditions for baseline measurements. For baseline measurements, check the ambient light level, in lux, shown on the Device home screen. Baseline measurements should be captured only in low or normal indoor light, below 1,000 lux. 7. Select the username. The User selects their own username on the Device. 8. Enter the PIN, if PIN was chosen. A User who chose PIN as their association method enters their six-digit PIN. A User who chose iris recognition goes directly to the next step. 9. Start the test. The User taps Check. 10. Position the Device. The User places the Device over the eyes. 11. Keep the eyes closed during the countdown. The Device starts a 60-second countdown. During this countdown, the User keeps the eyes closed. 12. Open the eyes when instructed. At the end of the countdown, the Device instructs the User to open the eyes wide and look straight ahead. 13. Complete the video capture. The Device activates a 4-second light stimulus and records a video of the pupillary response. 14. Keep the correct eye position. During the 4-second video capture, the User must keep the eyes fully open, look straight ahead, and avoid blinking or moving the eyes from side to side. 15. Review the result. The result is displayed on the Device and recorded. During baseline acquisition, the Device confirms whether the measurement was accepted. Once the baseline is complete, the result is Within Baseline Range or Alteration Detected. When the Device is connected, results are synchronized with the cloud platform. If the User blinks, closes the eyes, keeps the eyes only partially open, looks to the side, or moves the eyes from side to side during the 4-second video capture, the Device may not be able to capture a valid pupillary response.
