# How should the User position their eyes?

## Keep eyes fully open, look straight ahead, and avoid blinking during capture.

During the 4-second video capture, the User should keep the eyes fully open, look straight ahead, and avoid blinking.

Correct eye position means:

- Eyes fully open.
- Gaze centered.
- Looking straight ahead.
- No blinking during the video capture.
- No rapid eye movement from side to side.
- No looking directly at the flash.

Incorrect positioning can cause the measurement to fail. Common problems include:

- Eyes closed during the video capture.
- Blinking during the video capture.
- Eyes only partially open.
- Gaze not centered.
- Looking to the side.
- Moving the eyes quickly during the capture.

If the pupil is not visible, the Device cannot perform the PLR analysis. If the eyes are not looking straight ahead, processing may fail. For a User who chose iris recognition, if too much of the iris is covered, the Device may not recognize the User.

Once Users learn the correct technique, they quickly become comfortable with the process and are able to complete the test correctly and consistently.
