# How are software updates and security patches delivered?

## Validated software and security updates are deployed centrally through MDM.

The smartphone operating system and OPTOVERA software are centrally managed. Operating-system updates are provided by the smartphone manufacturer. OPTOVERA software and configuration updates are prepared and validated by SOBEREYE before deployment. Approved updates are distributed remotely through the Mobile Device Management environment. Security patches are released on a risk-based basis when a vulnerability, compatibility issue, or security improvement requires remediation.
