# How is access to the OPTOVERA platform controlled?

## Authenticated accounts and assigned roles restrict access to authorized Customer functions.

The OPTOVERA cloud platform uses authenticated user accounts and role-based access control. Access rights are assigned according to authorized responsibilities, such as performing or supervising testing, viewing individual results, viewing aggregated analytics, managing users, configuring alerts, administering customer settings, or accessing support functions. Users can access only the customer environment and functions associated with their assigned account and role. Customer data is logically separated within the multi-tenant platform architecture.

No role has access to PIN values. The dashboard provides no field, view, export, log, or API response in which a PIN is entered or displayed, and bulk user upload does not accept PINs. An administrator can clear a forgotten PIN but cannot set, issue, or view one.
