[Security and IT Requirements](https://knowledge.sobereye.com/en/security-and-it-requirements?hsLang=en) # How is communication between the Device and the cloud protected? ## HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or later encrypts Device-to-cloud communications. Communications between the OPTOVERA Device and the OPTOVERA cloud platform are encrypted in transit using HTTPS with TLS 1.2 or later. This protects authentication information, test data, synchronization traffic, and other communications exchanged between the Device and the cloud platform. The Device does not transmit OPTOVERA data through unencrypted application protocols. PINs are never transmitted in clear text.
