# A User wants to change association method. How is this done, and does it affect their baseline?

## Enable the requested switch; the User chooses again without losing baseline or history.

1. The User requests the switch through the route the Customer has defined and communicated.
2. A user with the Administrator or Agent role enables the switch for that User in the dashboard.
3. The choice is presented to the User again on the Device, and the User makes the new selection there.

When a User switches from iris recognition to PIN, the Service automatically deletes that User's Iris Identification Data from active systems. Residual copies may remain temporarily in protected backups until overwritten or deleted through established backup cycles.

A switch in either direction does not reset the individual baseline, delete measurement history, or cost the User any baseline progress. Changing association method is not a remedy for slow baseline progress, because baseline acquisition is not materially faster with either method.
