[Understanding Results](https://knowledge.sobereye.com/en/understanding-results?hsLang=en) # What happens if the confirmation measurement also returns Alteration Detected? ## Two alterations within 30 minutes count once, on the second result; the first becomes Retested. If the confirmation measurement also returns Alteration Detected and is completed within the 30-minute confirmation window, the new result is classified as Alteration Confirmed. If a second Alteration Detected result is recorded for the same User within 30 minutes of the first, the pair is classified as Alteration Confirmed, assigned to the second result, and counts as one confirmed alteration. The first result is labeled Retested and is no longer valid as a standalone result and is not counted separately. This confirms only that an alteration was detected in both measurements, and nothing more. An Alteration Confirmed result does not identify the cause of the alteration. It does not diagnose or prove impairment, intoxication, fatigue, substance use, a medical condition, or any other specific condition. The supervisor or qualified personnel should follow the organization’s internal safety procedure for Alteration Confirmed results. This may include additional review, temporary reassignment, escalation, or other actions defined by the organization. OPTOVERA provides the objective measurement result.
