# How many successful measurements are needed to establish a baseline?

## At least 10 measurements are required; after the first two, allow at least eight hours between measurements.

OPTOVERA requires a minimum of 10 successful measurements to establish a User’s baseline.

The first 2 baseline measurements can be taken immediately one after the other. After that, each additional baseline measurement must be separated by at least 8 hours. If a baseline measurement is taken too soon, it is not registered and does not count toward baseline completion. When this happens, the Device displays an alert to inform the User.

This means baseline acquisition usually takes multiple days, even when the User performs the test correctly.

Each successful baseline measurement requires a valid pupillary response and correct association with the User. The number of measurements required is the same for both association methods, and baseline acquisition is not materially faster with either one.
