Does an Alteration Detected result mean the worker is impaired?

Alteration Detected signals a change from baseline and requires confirmation, without establishing impairment.

No. An Alteration Detected result means that a significant response alteration was detected relative to the User’s individual baseline. It does not identify the cause of the alteration, and it is not a determination of impairment, intoxication, fatigue, or a medical condition.

An Alteration Detected result is followed by a confirmation measurement within 30 minutes. An Alteration Confirmed outcome confirms only that the alteration was still present at the confirmation measurement.

An Alteration Detected result should be reviewed by qualified personnel and handled according to the organization’s internal safety policy.
