How does OPTOVERA associate a Scan with the correct User?
Users choose PIN or optional iris recognition to link each Scan to their own record.
Each Scan must be linked to the correct enrolled User so that it can be compared with that User’s individual baseline. OPTOVERA offers two association methods, and both are available to every User in every deployment:
- PIN. The User selects their username on the Device and enters a six-digit PIN that they set themselves. The PIN confirms the username the User selected; it verifies an identity the User asserts rather than identifying the User.
- Optional one-to-one iris recognition. The User selects their username on the Device, and the Device compares the iris only with that User’s previously enrolled record, within the Customer’s logically separated environment.
In both methods, the User selects their username first; the method determines only how that selection is confirmed. Each User chooses the method directly on the Device at the first assessment. The choice does not affect how the Scan is performed, how the result is interpreted, or the User’s ability to participate.
Neither method is used for surveillance, public identification, law enforcement, marketing, or unrelated analytics.
