How long does an OPTOVERA test take?
A 60-second countdown is followed by a 4-second recording of the pupil response.
An OPTOVERA Scan takes about 60 seconds.
The User first selects their username on the Device. A User who chose PIN then enters their PIN. The User then taps Check. These steps take place on the lit screen before the countdown begins, so they do not lengthen the measurement.
The User then positions the Device over the eyes. The Visor blocks outside light and creates a controlled dark environment. The Device provides voice instructions and starts a 60-second countdown, during which the User keeps their eyes closed. This allows the pupils to dilate under consistent conditions before the measurement begins. The countdown is the same in both association methods.
At the end of the countdown, the Device instructs the User to open their eyes and look straight ahead. An internal light is then activated, and the Device records a 4-second video of the pupillary response for analysis.
During this 4-second video capture, the User must keep their eyes fully open, look straight ahead, and avoid blinking. Blinking, closing the eyes, partially closing the eyes, or moving the eyes quickly from side to side may prevent the system from capturing a valid pupillary response. If this happens, the Device reports an invalid measurement and the test must be repeated.
