What should supervisors check before starting testing at the beginning of a shift?
Check Device readiness, synchronization, User availability, lighting, and the testing workflow.
Before testing begins, supervisors should check that the Device, user list, lighting conditions, and workflow are ready.
Recommended pre-shift checks:
- Confirm that the Device is charged and available for daily use.
- Confirm that the Device has been synchronized as needed.
- Press UPDATE USERS LIST before testing, especially if Users have been added or changed, or if a PIN has been reset.
- Confirm that Pending measurements are at zero. If Pending measurements are shown on the home screen, connect the Device and synchronize it before testing.
- Confirm that the Device has internet connectivity when synchronization is needed.
- Verify User enrollment on the Device by opening the Device menu and checking USERS LIST.
- Confirm that the Users who will be tested appear in USERS LIST.
- Confirm that the testing area allows Users to follow the Device instructions without interruption.
- For baseline measurements, confirm that the ambient light is below 1,000 lux using the lux measurement shown on the Device home screen.
- Avoid capturing baseline measurements immediately after Users have been exposed to very bright light, such as direct outdoor sunlight, bright loading bays, or vehicle environments.
- Remind Users not to rush the test. They should be calm and comfortable before starting.
- Remind Users to select their own username, to keep their eyes closed during the countdown, and then to open their eyes wide, look straight ahead, and avoid blinking or moving their eyes from side to side during the 4-second video capture.
- Make sure the organization’s safety procedure is clear for any result that requires review.
- Contact OPTOVERA support if synchronization, user list, recognition, repeated measurement, or lighting-condition issues cannot be resolved.
