Is iris recognition mandatory?
Every User can freely choose PIN instead of optional iris recognition.
No. Iris recognition is optional and never imposed. Every User in every deployment can choose PIN instead, and no configuration exists in which a User can be denied the PIN alternative.
Each User freely selects the method directly on the Device at the first assessment. PIN is an equivalent alternative without adverse consequences, and the selected method does not affect how the assessment is performed or interpreted.
The Customer must not require iris recognition or present it as mandatory, expected, or preferred. The User’s selection of Use Iris Recognition on the Device is recorded as an affirmative selection. Where consent or authorization is required or relied upon under applicable law, that selection is the mechanism used to capture it, subject to the applicable Country Supplement and deployment notice.
