Does OPTOVERA detect alcohol or drug use?
OPTOVERA does not identify substances or determine intoxication from a result.
No. OPTOVERA does not detect alcohol, drugs, or any specific substance, and it does not determine intoxication.
OPTOVERA measures the User’s Pupillary Light Reflex (PLR) and compares the result with the User’s individual baseline. If a significant alteration is detected, the result is Alteration Detected, but OPTOVERA does not determine the cause of that alteration.
An Alteration Detected result should be treated as a safety signal that requires review under the organization’s internal safety procedure. It must not be interpreted or used as evidence of alcohol use, drug use, misconduct, or any other specific cause.
OPTOVERA does not accuse a User of wrongdoing, determine whether a User is under the influence, or replace the Customer’s internal safety, confirmation, or investigation procedures.
