What happens if a User forgets their PIN?
An administrator clears the PIN; after synchronization, the User sets a new one.
If the Device does not accept a PIN, the User should check that they selected their own username and enter the PIN again. There is no limit on attempts.
If the User remembers their current PIN and wants to change it, they can do so on the Device by entering the current PIN and setting a new one.
If the User has forgotten their PIN:
- An administrator clears the User’s PIN. The administrator does not set a new PIN.
- The pending reset is shown in USERS LIST on the Device and in the dashboard.
- Synchronize the Device with UPDATE USERS LIST so the reset reaches that Device.
- At the next assessment, the User sets a new PIN on the Device.
A PIN reset, or a PIN change made on another Device, takes effect on a Device only after that Device synchronizes. Until then, the previous PIN remains valid on that Device.
A PIN change or reset does not affect the User’s baseline, measurement history, or results. It is a different action from a baseline reset, which an authorized administrator performs only after investigation.
